Concepts for Engaging Window Treatments Part III.

Custom made Blinds Grab & Go blinds are simply a name given to pre-cut shades that you purchase off the self. The widths of a grab and go window blind must be shorter to accommodate as many windows as practicable ( this typically causes a light opening, or show, at the sides of the blind or shade ).

The lower price is due to the utilization of lighter weight less expensive materials, lower quality hardware, less sizes, colours and shortage of a guaranty. A grab & go blind has a product survival expectancy of two to six years. Each window is measured for it's width and height to the closest one / 8" and the blind is built to fit the opening. The light opening, show, on each side is about 0.25 " and the bottom rail ( bottom of the window shades ) comes right to the window ledge. Custom blinds are made with better materials and hardware.

they're often guaranteed for so long as you own the home. The material selections are PVC blinds, wood composite blinds, and real wood blinds. They're generally slightly more pricey than the grab & go blinds. One of my all time tops for these kinds of doors are wood blinds. Another good choice for French doors is roller shades. Roller shades are the ideal choice if you need to select how much light gets filtered into your room and to save your perspectives. Choosing the best window treatments for outsized windows can be troublesome, though there are a few decisions. One of my favourite choices for outsized window is panel track blinds, which I discussed in my first article.

PVC Blinds or Fake Wood Blinds Fake or PVC blinds are made from a solid or foamed poly vinyl chloride plastic. That's right, the same stuff milk bottles are made from. PVC blinds are start price point in this class. They're really sturdy, UV resistant, water resistant ( as in when the windows are left open and it rains or the sprinklers come on ), and easy to scrub. The slats are PVC, but so is everything else like the head rail ( usually metal ), tilt mechanism ( typically metal ), barrels ( metal best ) and for example. Slat widths are usually 2", two half ", and often 3" and come in flat or elliptical shapes.
