Calming Symbols as Home Decor?

Everybody has a preconceived definition of terms used to explain home dcor. Likely one of the most misunderstood words in home decorating is "rustic".

Rustic incorporates those touches that assist in creating a sense of simplicity. Country style is naive or unpretentious, and it's got a heat and sincerity that transcends being specified or restricted to any special period of time. Early Yankee dcor benefits by the addition of country touches like iron skillets or pewter, the poor man's silver. During Colonial times, houses quite often contained objects or helpful items, duvets, tin wall sconces or earthenware jugs, now considered country or folks art pieces. The trick is in choosing 'rustic' that fits the decorating theme. Do you know that our bodies can mechanically react to certain environmental changes and stimuli, even to symbols you may use as decorative accents? I'm in possession of a small experiment for you to try in a second so you can experience the power of this concept. Click here to go to information about shades.

You can try this quick experiment to see how your body and mind reacts to some changes. At the moment, pretend you are indignant for a moment- feel the stress in your forehead, the wrinkles beginning to form as you scowl and all that. Hold this and let yourself think an upsetting thought. For example, does saluting the flag or singing the nation's anthem ever get you feeling patriotic, teary eyed or choked up? If this is the case you are reacting to the symbolism, to that images, to those sounds. A hint of humor or evidence of the significant things in life can give heart to any room, any home.
